FC Stumbras Kaunas played their second friendly game in two days. Lithuanians faced Serbian football giant and current championship leaders FK Crvena Zvezda. After very tough game Serbians proved their class and achieved hard victory 3:1.
Before the match many expected famous Crvena Zvezda to completely dominate the game but everything was different. It was equal game in the first half and most of the time ball was in the middle of the pitch. Both teams were agressive but struggling in attack. Crvena Zvezda got three yellow card until half time while Stumbras only one.
The first real opportunity in the game came appeared only on 37th minute and immediately finished with a goal. It was Nenad Milijaš who finished brilliant attack and put Serbians upfront – 1:0.
A couple of minutes later Stumbras made mistake in own box and referee gave penalty for playing with the hand. Serbian National team striker Aleksandar Pešič took the penalty but Stumbras goalkeeper Rodrigo Josviaki won this battle and saved it. 1:0 in half time.
In the second half Stumbras made many substitutions – young and inexperienced players got their chance against strong and famous Zvezda. Serbians however answered with much less substitutions and keeped the balance on the pitch.
After the break Aleksandar Pešič doubled the lead 2:0, but Stumbras managed to score as well. It was winger Lucas Villela who showed some good skills in Zvezda box and earned a penalty. It was him who took the ball in the net afterwards leaving no chance for Zvezda goalkeeper – 1:2.
In the remaining time both teams could score. Stumbras midfielder Fabio Lopes hit the bar with amazing long shot but it was Zvezda who scored once again. In the very last minutes of the game Milan Pavkov gave an end to the game – 3:1.
